As a college student, I am always on the lookout for the best and latest brands for fashion and beauty that fit my interests and my budget. “Style Spotlight” is a new part of my column in which I will feature fashion-friendly finds with student-friendly prices, so we can live the stylish life, regardless of college expenses.
Lately, I have been all about the “glam-gang” trend seen on Tumblr – glowy makeup, satin clothing, jewels galore. This trend has me #shook, and it has only become more prevalent as the season dives closer to the Holidays. I have seen more girls on campus sporting this look, and so I knew I had to feature the brand LUX as the first style spotlight in this column.
Lux is a fashion and jewelry brand, launching later this month, and onlookers couldn’t be more excited. The brand is owned by the same owners of HoneyKissed Cosmetics, an LLC that has gained major popularity recently thanks to the social media world. Lux is going to feature a range of glamorous jewelry, from rhinestone studded choker necklaces (like the one scene in the picture above) to crystal garters. The line will also include clothing items directly inspired by the glam garments seen on Tumblr. As dreamy as the products are, the most exciting thing about the line is how affordable it will be! HoneyKissed cosmetics has a line of products that are in the price range of $10-$30, and the owners do not want LUX to be any different. The projected prices are no more than $50 for each piece, which is a deal considering the quality of the products being sold.
The brand is also all about diversity, featuring different sizes and ethnicities of their models in their advertisements.
“Luxury comes in all shapes and sizes and so do our pieces,” tweeted the brand, in reference to their line. “We understand that not everyone’s luxury looks and fits the same.”
