Trendy Tiger attends college fashion week

Perfect brows, floral fragrances and kitschy graphic sweatshirts dazzling with sequins were just some of the trends highlighted at this year’s College Fashion Week show in New York City.

The show, held by media company Her Campus, celebrated its fifth anniversary in Manhattan on Oct. 1. The venue, 404, was absolutely beautiful – a sleek white interior filled with pink and black accents throughout. The show consisted of four breakthrough designer labels by female entrepreneurs who are getting their feet into the door of the fashion industry.

From the models to the fashion show attendants, everyone was dressed in their hottest outfits to showcase their love for the fashion industry. Velvet, chokers, bodycon dresses and statement shoes definitely appeared to be trends to take part in this fall season.

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a media correspondent to attend the show, and to say that it was an event worth attending would be a major understatement.

The sponsors for the show – which included the likes of Fitbit, KIND, Vince Camuto, Rebecca Minkoff, the DryBar, European Wax Center, Essie, Hanes X Maidenform, Bertha Watches and StyleWatch Magazine – set up stations throughout the three-level venue for attendees to get more of an insight on their products/services, as well as to throw giveaway raffles. Members of the show had a chance of winning anything from a Fitbit band to a genuine-leather Rebecca Minkoff bag.

The European Wax Center set up a station for free eyebrow consultations – I signed up for one and ended up learning even more about my eyebrows than I thought was ever possible.

There were an abundance of edibles, from a cookie bar and candy bar to boxed water (yes, I did say boxed), however the snacks were nearly gone in seconds.

The show’s popularity has grown each year. This year, the show had to delay its start due to the immensely long line of people trying to get in.

The slight delay was well worth it, though. The crowd had a blast and indulged in the endless trendy styles that made their way down the runway.
