Towson University is one of about 30 universities whose students living in TU managed residence halls can now stream TV for free, thanks to Xfinity. The service is included in the cost of on-campus room and board.

Offered by Comcast, Xfinity On Campus is “a cable TV service that lets students watch live TV and On Demand content on any device,” according to Jamie Debole, public relations manager at Comcast.

To access the streaming service, students can start by logging in via the Xfinity On Campus homepage. They will then have to select TU from a list of other participating universities and colleges, before having the option to name their device and move on.
Debole reached out to the Towerlight in order to get the information out to the rest of the student body.

Debole said that this program was created with the goal of “offering the choice and flexibility through Xfinity on-campus” which allows students to “access to all of today’s excellent TV content on their own schedule and devices.”

She feels that Xfinity On Campus “helps students make the most out of every minute — in and out of the classroom.”

This service was launched in the fall of 2014 and brought to Towson University in fall of 2015. Other participating institutions include Dartmouth, Goucher College, Drexel University and Loyola University Maryland.
