Towson placed 11th out of 20 teams at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Princeton, New Jersey.

The Tigers placed ahead of CAA-opponent Delaware, who finished 17th.

“Quite often we’ve gone to Princeton and been a bit disappointed with our performance,” head coach Mike Jackson said. “But we had some good personal bests that happened so really excited about what we did and that’s the last meet going into our conference championship.”

Sophomore Olivia Janke individually finished in 16th place with a time of 21:45.9. Janke crossed the finish line in the fastest time for the Tigers for the fifth straight meet and represented Towson in the top 20.

“I’m sure she’s excited,” Jackson said. “She really moved up tremendously after the first mile. Was in the top 60 in the first mile and ended up getting sixteenth overall so she runs really smart and does a great job and very proud of her efforts.”

Freshman Kylie Anicic finished second for Towson in 22:28:1 and 43rd overall.

Sophomore McKenzie Delahanty finished 71st overall timing 23:01.6 while freshman Alison Betler finished 88th in 23:13.6. Freshman Faith Loftus finished 187th timing 25:39.1

“Alison Betler had a personal-best run as well as Faith Loftus so they’re really coming along,” Jackson said. “Some of our freshmen who are adjusting to the college training and college living and so they’re on their way and have some great momentum going into the conference championship meet,” Jackson said.

Towson will compete at the CAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. from James Madison University.
