As the semester comes to a close, some students may feel anxious for it all to just be over with. Final projects, papers, exams and registration for next semester, are just some a few of the things students are stressing over these next couple of weeks.
This season is a chaotic one for college students, however, you should not feel discouraged! This is the time to secure your grades and close out the semester with a strong finish.
If students find themselves stressed or lacking support, Towson is providing many resources to ensure students are motivated to end the semester strong:
- Free Guided Meditation Sessions:
Towson’s Health Center is hosting free meditation sessions throughout the last weeks of the semester. These sessions are beneficial for students who want to relax and take their minds off school for a bit of time. Some of the upcoming sessions are on Dec. 3 at 1 p.m., Dec. 5 at 4 p.m., and Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. These sessions will be held at the Health and Counseling Center at Ward and West in the Meditation Room.
Towson’s Campus Activities Board is hosing a De-Stress event on Dec. 6 at the Chesapeake Ballrooms from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will include food, games and de-stressing activities such as karaoke and coloring.
- Preparing for Finals:
Workshops will be held in the remaining weeks of the semester to prepare students for their final exams. On Dec. 5, Webex will be holding a session from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Another session will be held on Dec. 7 at Cook Library in room 513 from 11 a.m. to noon.
- Final Exam Q&A Session:
Drop in tutoring for select courses will be available for students on Dec.11 at West Village Commons in Ballroom B from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is the day before the start of final examinations, so students should take advantage of this opportunity for last-minute, free tutoring.
Towson students should take advantage of these opportunities to maintain a less stressful ending of the semester. Mark these events on your calendars!
